Update on projects
Jessica Brandt and Ramin Sohrab shot a commercial with Komia. Pictures and behind the scenes will be posted once the commercial itself is complete. After that Ramin left back to LA. We wish him luck!

We've been doing a small project for YLE. More info about that when it gets closer to being released. Also some small viral video for a game company. More about that too once it gets closer to being youtubed.

The Mute: 80% complete. Only a couple of effects left, sound work and color correction. Everything is looking good for a nice 2009 release :)

Operation 63: A harddrive crash has caused this project to return to the drawing board. We will start capturing material back and start to edit from the beginning. A raid-5 box has been ordered for future harddrive failures.

Bombers: Our trailer tribute to 80's action movies. Some shots done but we still need to shoot more.

Unnamed Apocalypse project: Scripting and throwing ideas around has begun. We are aiming for a good 30-60 minutes of story.

Including our own work we have been also consulting and helping other groups in their own projects. And offcourse training stunts and fight choreographies.

Samuel Kohtala also came and shot a lot of good looking pictures with us when we were doing Bombers. We have also talked about updating our webpages, especially a better gallery section (which we don't have at the moment) and better members page with full info.

Verimalja - An independent movie set in WWII
Here's a trailer for a finnish WWII movie. Pekka Rintala has been making this for years (we were helping him a couple of years ago when they were still shooting with a small dv camera) and now with the help of Jarno Elonen they've come up with this trailer:

Damn awesome dudes! Thumbs up from here!

Color grading
I've been doing some color grading and it just astonishes how much you can change the tone of an image. Here a couple of examples from The Mute:

This is the uncorrected image straight from the camera. Ugly and basic.

And this is the final one. Midtones and highlights are toned very bluish and the corners have been slightly vignetted.

Uncorrected from camera.

Added a lot of glow and toned it into green. Works perfectly.

Laser Rats!
We were testing the hd video capabilities of the Canon EOS 5d Mark II and made this video. Primary things to test were the rolling shutter effect and how it affects fast paced shooting with small fight choreographys, how the h.264 can be color corrected and edited and also some small tracking and effects shot testing. Still learning particles and after effects. Some shots done with the canon hv20 and Sony hc1 camera. 30p caused us some problems.

Setting for this video is an apocalyptic Finland and we went for a slight 80's action movie style :)

Yöpyöveli (The Night Hound)
We were pretty bored one friday night and Jussi had got a lot of clothing so we had to test them out. This is what came of that friday

Night Hound meets his first adversary! First time doing particle effects and lightsabres for us. We also found a great shooting location while helping another production so we had to try it out for ourselves. Some of my tracking shots are not so good and I didn't mask everything properly. Though I'm pretty pleased with the titles. Thanks to Andrew Kramer and his absolutely great tutorials!

Downloadable (720p) version at our video page.
